Marching Energy: WOFA’s April Festival in Istanbul – 2025
“Croatian Majorettes and Orchestras Dazzle in Istanbul, April 24–27”

We cordially invite folk and choral groups, orchestras, majorette teams, and children’s and youth groups to participate in the VI “International TROYA Folk Dance and Music Festival,” to be held from July 1–5, 2025, in Çanakkale, Turkey. This festival offers an exceptional opportunity for international groups to showcase their cultural heritage through traditional dances, music, and national costumes.
Participants should be aware of the following guidelines for participation:
The festival is open to folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups, choirs, and music bands from all over the world.
Each ensemble must prepare at least two dances, each lasting 8–12 minutes, accompanied by a USB or orchestra.
Folklore groups must bring a flag of their country and at least four gifts for municipal visits and organizers.
To participate, all groups must submit a completed application form. By doing so, they agree to the terms outlined in this document.
Participation is limited to three groups per country.
Groups must submit a short CV and a minimum of six group photos by email.
A list of participants, including names, birthdates, gender, and passport numbers, must be sent by May 1st.
Folklore groups must arrange their own transportation for arrival and departure.
The festival offers several accommodation options in Çanakkale, Turkey, including student dormitories and basic to advanced hotels. All accommodations include half-board meals (two meals per day).
Student Dormitory (3 HB per person):
3 nights: 105 EUR
4 nights: 129 EUR
Room types: Leaders and drivers in double rooms, others in triple and quadruple rooms.
Facilities: Private bathrooms in every room.
Basic Hotels (3 HB per person):
3 nights: 119 EUR
4 nights: 149 EUR
Room types: Leaders and drivers in double rooms, others in triple and quadruple rooms.
Advanced Hotels (3 HB per person):
3 nights: 129 EUR
4 nights: 169 EUR
Room types: Leaders and drivers in double rooms, others in triple and quadruple rooms.
Additional Night Option:
35–45 EUR per person per night.
Note: A group of 25 participants receives one free leader (24 paying participants + 1 free leader).
Note: The organizer reserves the right to modify the festival schedule.
Festival participation and concert performances – Professional sound, stage, and lighting equipment – Accommodation in selected hotels (rooms with 3-4 beds; supplements for double and single rooms) – Half-board meals (2 meals per day) – Welcome cocktail reception – Souvenirs and gifts for each group – Certificate of participation – Drinks during performances

– A 10% guarantee fee is required in advance, which will be deducted from the final payment. – A 20% payment is due for booking accommodation. – The remaining balance must be paid before the festival or upon arrival, based on agreement with the organizers.
An invitation letter will be provided if needed.
The festival will be held from July 1–5, 2025, with the following schedule:
Day 1:
14:00: Arrival in Çanakkale, hotel check-in, free time
18:00–20:00: Dinner at the hotel
21:00: Welcome reception with group leaders
Day 2:
07:00–10:00: Breakfast
10:00–14:00: Visit to Çanakkale city (guided or free time)
15:00–15:30: Visit to the Municipality of Çanakkale
17:00–18:00: Dinner at the hotel
19:00–21:00: Official opening ceremony with “Ensemble Parade”
Day 3:
07:00–10:00: Breakfast
10:00–13:00: Excursion to Troy or free time (optional, extra payment for a tour guide)
17:30–18:30: Dinner at the hotel
20:00: Second festival evening
Day 4:
07:00–10:00: Breakfast
10:00–18:00: Optional excursion to Gallipoli or Bozcaada Island, or free time
19:30–20:30: Dinner at the hotel
21:00: Closing ceremony, souvenir exchange, and final party
Day 5:
07:00–10:00: Breakfast
12:00: Departure
During the festival, there will be opportunities to explore the beauty and history of Çanakkale and its surroundings. The following excursions are offered:
Day 2: Visit to Çanakkale city, including the Cordon, the Ancient Aynali Carsi Bazaar, and optional guided tours.
Day 3: Visit to Troy, the ancient city famous for its connection to the Trojan Wars.
Day 4: Optional excursions to the Gallipoli Peninsula or Bozcaada Island, or free time for individual activities.
Note: Optional excursions may require an extra payment for a tour guide.
