Getting around

Wiener Linien operates U-Bahn, trams and buses; suburban trains extend coverage.

Practical notes

The airport is outside Vienna’s core ticket zone; check airport fare validity rather than assuming a city pass covers it. Arrange designated coach loading and parking.

Participation

The festival is non-competitive and welcomes children’s, youth and adult choirs, singing formations and vocal groups, with or without orchestral accompaniment.

Repertoire

  • At least one piece must represent the choir’s national repertoire.
  • Accepted repertoire includes sacred music, secular music, Christmas carols and other choral repertoire.

Performance & Stage

  • Each choir should prepare a 15-minute programme of approximately 3–4 pieces.

  • The festival includes a church performance at Mariahilf Church. Church information: https://www.erzdioezese-wien.at/Wien-Mariahilf

  • An additional performance at Ehrbar Hall may also take place.

  • The organizers provide Piano in the church of Mariahilf

Participants can use their free time to discover Vienna. Suggested attractions include:

  • The historic city centre
  • Imperial architecture
  • Christmas markets
  • Cultural and historical monuments
  • Shopping areas
  • Traditional Viennese cafés
