Participation Information

With pleasure, we INVITE you (folk groups, dance groups, vocal and choir groups, majorette teams, orchestras, modern dance, and both children and adult groups) to participate in the XXVII International Music & Folk-Dance Festival “OHRID PEARL,” taking place from June 11 to 15 in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

The intention of our invitation and the festival’s light motive is to present the cultural traditions of different countries and provide an opportunity for group members to come together, establish friendships, and present their culture through dance and music.

Participation Conditions:

This is a non-competitive festival.

  • Eligible participants include children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups, and soloists, as well as performers from other artistic styles.
  • The number of participants is limited to only three groups from each country.
  • Each group should consist of a maximum of 70 members, including dancers, managers, musicians, and family members.
  • Each ensemble must prepare at least two folk dances, each lasting 12-16 minutes, with orchestra or USB. Choral groups are required to prepare two parts of a free program lasting 12-16 minutes.
  • Performances will be held in the evening hours, allowing daytime for historical city visits and excursions.
  • Each group should send a short CV and five photos by mail.
  • Groups must bring a flag representing their country.
  • Each group is responsible for their own transport for arrival and departure.

Insurance: Personal responsibility and health insurance are required for all groups. First aid and medical services will be available and must be covered by the group.

TOURIST TAX: 1 EUR per person ( paid additionally)

 

Program Information

Festival Program Overview:

Day 1:

  • 13:00: Arrival in Ohrid after 13:00, hotel accommodation, and free activities.
  • 19:00 – 21:00: Dinner at the hotel.
  • 21:00: Welcome reception and meeting with group leaders.

Day 2:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
  • 10:30 – 14:00: Ohrid sightseeing.
  • 18:30 – 19:30: Dinner at the hotel.
  • 20:00: Parade in the city.
  • 20:30: Official festival opening with welcome speech and fireworks.

Day 3:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
  • 11:00 – 15:30: Boat cruise on Ohrid Lake.
  • 18:00 – 19:30: Dinner at the hotel.
  • 20:00: Macedonian evening party or dance workshop.

Day 4:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
  • 11:00 – 14:00: Visiting local sites or optional trip to Struga.
  • 14:00 – 15:00: Lunch at the hotel.
  • 20:00 – 21:00: Dinner at the hotel.
  • 21:00 – 00:00: Disco party for all participants.

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
  • 11:30: Departure from the hotel.
