With pleasure we INVITE you (Folk and Choral groups, orchestras, majorette teams), (children, youth and adults groups) to participate in the II International Folk Dance and Music Festival “Summer in North Cyprus” 10 – 14 September, 2026, Cyprus.
This festival is the perfect occasion for different groups from various countries to gather together so that they could express their culture and nation through dances, music and interesting national costumes.
Kyrenia will be the host and the gathering place for dance groups and national art groups from all around the world to meet new people, make new friendship relationships and also, see the beauties of our town. The idea of the festival is to develop new forms of communication in the international dialogue and international cooperation in the future.
The aim is to present the cultural tradition of different countries and to provide an opportunity for the members of groups to get together, to establish friendships and culture presentation through dance and music.
Kyrenia is a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbour and castle. According to Greek mythology, Kyrenia was founded by the Achaeans Cepheus and Praxandrus who ended up there after the Trojan War. The heroes gave to the new city the name of their city of Kyrenia located in Achaia, Greece.
Kyrenia is a cultural and economical centre, described as the tourism capital of Northern Cyprus. It is home to numerous hotels, nightlife and a port. It hosts an annual culture and arts festival with hundreds of participating artists and performers and is home to three universities with a student population around 14,000.

Festival Welcomes:
Folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups, choirs, music bands from all over the world.
Non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances, choral groups, majorette teams, orchestras, brass bands.
General Rules:
The number of participants is limited (only 3 groups from each country).
Ensemble should have prepared at least 2-3 dances, 10-15 minutes each with USB or orchestra.
Performances will be in the evening hours so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting the historical part of the city.
Send short CV and 2-3 photos of the group via email.
Each group should send list of participants (name/surname, sex, date of birth, passport number) by August 15, 2026.
Bring national flag.
Groups should take few presents for municipality visits.
Groups should have their own transport for arrival, departure and during festival program.
Any group must submit an Application form. All filled and signed applications mean acceptance of the terms.

Payment Terms:
Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
Next payment of 20% for booking of accommodation needs to be sent to the organizer.
Rest of the sum will be paid before the beginning of the festival or upon arrival regarding the permission and agreement with organizers.
Accommodation at Hotel Riverside, 4* hotel in Kyrenia, Cyprus.
Participation Fee:
175 EUR – 3 nights with half board (2 meals per day) in 4* hotel
229 EUR – 4 nights with half board (2 meals per day) in 4* hotel
Additional Costs:
Double room surcharge: 7 EUR/person/day.
Single room surcharge: 70% of the amount.
Extended stay (before or after festival): 57 EUR/person/day with half board service.
Insurance and city tax: not included.
Included by Organizers:
One free participation per 25 dancers.
Participation in festival concerts.
Accommodation in selected category of hotels (mostly 3-bedded rooms).
Half-board hotel accommodation.
Welcome cocktails with leaders of groups.
Souvenir and gift for each group.

Day 1 (10 September 2026):
13:00 – Arrival in Kyrenia, hotel accommodation after meeting with festival representatives, free time
19:00 – 20:00 – Dinner in hotel
21:00 – Welcome reception with the leaders of the groups
Day 2 (11 September 2026):
08:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
10:00 – 15:00 – Kyrenia sightseeing – visiting cultural and historical monuments (Kyrenia fortress, Barnabas Monastery, Bellapais, Salamis ancient city…)
17:30 – 18:30 – Dinner in hotel
19:00 – Ensemble parade and Official festival evening at the square of the city
Day 3 (12 September 2026):
08:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
11:00 – 17:00 – Cruising with boat in Kyrenia (optional) or free time / beach time
18:00 – 19:00 – Dinner in hotel
19:30 – Second festival evening
Day 4 (13 September 2026):
08:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
10:00 – 14:00 – Visiting Magusa old town, old fortress, Monastery of St. Barnabas, etc.
19:00 – 20:30 – Dinner in hotel
21:00 – Closing ceremony of the festival – certificates and presents for ensembles by organizer, exchange of presents between leaders of ensembles, and final party with all participants
Day 5 (14 September 2026):
08:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast
11:00 – Departure
