Participation Information

With pleasure we INVITE you (Children’s, Youth & Adults Choral groups) to participate on  XII International Choir festival and Competition ” SINGING IN DURRES” which will be held on 18-22 June  2026

   The Festival light motive is to present and promote choral music of different countries, exchange experience and to provide an opportunity for the members of groups to get together, to establish friendships and culture presentation.

REGULATIONS

   Every choir, singing formation and orchestras has the right to participate. 

  • Children’s choirs   
  • Youth choirs  
  • Adult choirs.

Festival has 2 section: competitive ( must be 5 and more choirs ) and non competitive.

 In order to apply,  application form must be sent, including a photograph of the choir and the conductor as well as a recent audio recording. The requested materials can be sent by email, recording audio can be put on your web site or send by post.  

Festival  is not competitive and has 3 sections:

  • Section one – obligatory  performance – Open air, ( is required to perform a 12-15 minute program of their choice at several outdoor public locations)
  • Section two –  spiritual music (program must contain choral arrangements of spiritual songs. The program should last 8-14 minutes..
  • Section three – Pop or Folk music (the program must contain choral arrangements of pop or folk songs or motives. The program should last 8-14 minutes.

           All choirs are required to performin at least two sections.

 

Participating conditions are:

  • The number of participants are limited,
  • Each group should consist of most 80 members including singers, managers and musicians
  • Age of the participants are not limited (see sections),
  • Choirs should have prepared at least 2 performance for two sections, 8-14 minutes each with or without instruments,
  • To send short CV and photos of the choirs by mail,
  • To bring a flag of the country,
  • Choir groups should have there own transport for arrival and departure,

    By applying to the Festival the choir agrees to respect and to regulate the legal rights of the authors of the works it performs and agrees to give right to the Festival to use any material recorded during the Festival.

The festival will be held at Hotel Bonita, a 5-star hotel with an outdoor swimming pool, a private beach, and a spa center with a gym Hotel Bonita Luxury. Accommodation is provided in double rooms for leaders and drivers. Triple rooms are also available.

Participation fee:

  • 153 euro for 3 HB per person (3 nights with 2 meals)
  • 193 euro for 4 HB per person  (4 nights with 2 meals)
  • 233 euro for 5 HB per person (5 nights with 2 meals) 

 

  • After the festival, participants may extend their stay at the hotel for 45 euros per person (HB).
  • Double room is 10 euros per person per day;
  • Single room is 20 euros per person per day;

 

Festival organizers provide:

  • for 25 dancers – one gratis
  • souvenir and gift for each group,
  • Certificate for attendance,
  • Welcome reception with leaders
  • drinks during performance
  • free parking
  • advertising of the festival (press release, social media promotions, posters)

Insurance & Additional Information:

Groups must have their own personal responsibility and health insurance. First aid and medical services will be available, covered by the group.

A tourist tax of 1 euro per person per day is an additional cost.

Program Information

Day 1

  • 12:00 – 14:00: Arrival in Durres, hotel accommodation
  • 19:00 – 21:00: Dinner at the hotel
  • 21:00: Welcome reception with the festival organizers

Day 2

  • 08:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
  • 10:00 – 14:00: Durres sightseeing tour
  • 17:00 – 19:30: Dinner at the hotel
  • 20:00: Festival evening

Day 3

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
  • 12:00 – 15:00: Choir competition performances
  • 18:30 – 20:30: Dinner at the hotel
  • 21:00: Festival evening – a cappella singing in the city

Day 4

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
  • 10:00 – 14:00: Visit to Kruje
  • 18:30 – 20:30: Dinner at the hotel
  • 21:00: Party with all participants

Day 5

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
  • 09:00 – 14:00: Departure

BERAT – UNESCO Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)

Divjakë-Karavasta National Park Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)
