Participation Information

We are pleased to invite folk ensembles, choral groups, art schools, majorette teams, orchestras, ballroom dance groups, and modern dance teams (children, youth, and adult groups) to participate in the XII International music & folk – dance festival “DURRES SUNSET”, which will be held from September 17-21, 2026, in Durres, Albania. The festival aims to showcase the cultural traditions of various countries and offer a platform for groups to form friendships and present their cultures through dance and music.

Participation is open to:

Folk ensembles, choral groups, orchestras, brass bands, majorette teams, ballroom dance groups, modern dance groups, art schools, etc.
Groups of all genders and ages.

General Rules:

  • A maximum of 3 groups from each country.
  • Each group should consist of no more than 70 members (including dancers, managers, musicians, and family members).
  • Groups must prepare at least 2 folk dances (10-15 minutes each, with orchestra or USB) or a 15-minute choral program.
  • Groups should provide a short CV, 5 photos, and a video link showcasing their performances.
  • Participants must bring a flag of their country.
  • Transport for arrival and departure must be arranged by the groups themselves.

Flights:

Low-cost flights are available via Wizz Air and Ryan Air to Tirana Airport.

Accommodation Information

Hotel: 5-star Hotel Bonita Luxury Resort, directly on Durres’ famous sand beach, featuring an outdoor pool, aqua park, and private beach access. Visit Hotel Bonita Luxury for more details.

Fees:

  • 153 euro for 3 HB per person (3 nights with 2 meals)
  • 193 euro for 4 HB per person  (4 nights with 2 meals)
  • 233 euro for 5 HB per person (5 nights with 2 meals) 
  • Groups can extend their stay for €45 per person per night (HB basis).

Room Options:

  • Double room is 10 euros per person per day
  • Single room is 20 euros per person per day

 

Festival organizers provide:

  • for 24 dancers – one gratis
  • souvenir and gift for each group
  • Certificate for attendance
  • drinks during performance
  • free parking
  • advertising of the festival (press release, social media promotions, posters)

Insurance:

Personal responsibility and health insurance are the responsibility of the groups. First Aid and medical services will be available, but the costs must be covered by the group.

Tourist Tax:

The tourist tax and insurance cost is 1 EUR per person per day, which will be an additional payment.

Program Information

Day 1:

  • 13:00: Arrival in Durres, hotel check-in, and beach time.
  • 18:00 – 19:00: Buffet dinner at the hotel.
  • 21:00: Welcome meeting.

Day 2:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Buffet breakfast.
  • 11:00 – 15:00: Guided sightseeing tour of Durres.
  • 18:00 – 19:00: Buffet dinner at the hotel.
  • 19:30 – 23:00: Parade on the main street leading to the square for the festival evening.

Day 3:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Buffet breakfast.
  • 10:30 – 15:00: Optional beach time or Kruje excursion.
  • 18:00 – 20:00: Buffet dinner at the hotel.
  • 21:00: Gala evening with short performances from each group (5-minute presentation). Awards and certificates presented to all participants.

Day 4:

  • 09:00 – 10:00: Buffet breakfast.
  • 10:30 – 15:00: Beach time or optional excursion to Kruje.
  • 17:00 – 18:00: Buffet dinner at the hotel.
  • 21:00: Free time.

Day 5:

  • 09:00 – 11:00: Buffet breakfast and departure.

BERAT – UNESCO Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)

TIRANA Half-Day Tour (15 guests required)

  • Explore Albania’s vibrant capital, from its fascinating history at Skanderbeg Square to its unique blend of Ottoman, Italian, and communist-era architecture. Discover the city’s dynamic energy through its colorful buildings, bustling cafes, and rich cultural sites.

Divjakë-Karavasta National Park Full-Day Tour (15 guests required)

  • This full-day excursion takes you to the pristine wetlands of Divjakë-Karavasta National Park, home to the rare Dalmatian pelican. Explore its diverse ecosystems of lagoons, pine forests, and sandy dunes through peaceful walking and birdwatching.
